Dr. Nancy Arsenault received the Vancouver Island University Community Contributor Award in recognition of her significant contributions to student learning and her involvement with the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management. During the presentation, Nancy's contributions as a female tourism leader in support of student learning as well as her contributions in BC and across Canada for her activities in advancing workforce development.

Dr. Nancy Arsenault, the Tourism Cafe's Managing Partner, was celebrated as one of three finalists in the 2022 BC Tourism & Hospitality Awards. This award recognizes and celebrates female excellence, leadership, innovation, achievement and professional expertise of outstanding women playing a vital role in British Columbia’s tourism and hospitality industry. The award raises the profile of women across the province who have achieved phenomenal success and are making a real impact in BC’s tourism and hospitality industry based on a panel of industry peers from the Tourism Industry Association of BC, the BC Hospitality Association and Indigenous Tourism BC.

Tourism Café Canada® was awarded the Innovative Business Award by the Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce for advancing their business through the efficient use of technology to innovate, solve a problem, open new markets as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and fulfil a need in the market. This award celebrates the new Tourism Connects e-learning line of business with a unique business model rooted in co-creating, leading-edge online and blended tourism training that responds to increasing demand for digital training solutions.
